Kuching Trip - Part 3

We arrived North part of Kuching using River Taxi. Here is the Astana... Frankie told me a lots on this story.....

It was a place where the Rajahs live....i was told Rajah James Brooke is a very punctual man....Every morning around 7.30am he will use his binoculars to look over the opposite of the river in order to check whether the staffs are going to work on time or not....then he will have breakfast.......by 8am, he will ride a horse and went out to tour around the village nearby where he will meet the villagers, chat with them and solve their problems.......sometimes there are villagers will wait him just outside the gate!!!!! I guess he really concern on his people there........

Pencil stilts......This is my first time to see this much !!!! quite interesting....

This tower just few walks from Astana.....this is the most challenging for me during my trip to Kuching......I am afraid of height......but I just give myself a try.....we went up....I was started to feel weak and sweat a lots.......I dare not even wanted to look down.....But the stairs are spiral......Making me even dizzy......When reached the top, I dare not walk to the edge. Not even 5 minutes, I decided to go down.....but I have to look down to see my steps.....Finally, I was forced to use 2 hands to support myself while trying to get myself to the ground as fast as possible. We rested awhile....

It was beautiful sunset.... Hope I can keep it as memory.....

This was the view I took when i reached the top.....But i never closed to the edge....I just stretched out my hand and snap!!!!

Well, that evening we strolled along the Pengkalan Batu and enjoying the sunset there....It started to get rain...

This was the end of my trip in Kuching......

I am happy as this is the most memorable trip for me as I started to know more Kuching rather than Batu Kawa only.....he he he.........

I will go to Kuching again.....Hope I can share other interesting places.......
